because the evening before our dolphin tour, the boat has to be trailered out of the river, the boat trailer is checked through so that we can leave at around 9 a.m. the next morning..

Hafen von KoronisiaHere the motorboat is lowered back into the water. It is important to be there before 11 a.m., because you cannot know exactly where the dolphins are. The Ambracian Gulf is an inland sea very very large and the dolphins could be anywhere. Therefore we need "a lot of power" from the engine to search for the dolphins at over 30 nautical miles per hour.
In groups of max. 7 people we now go in search of the dolphins. Keep an eye out for where seagulls are circling, because where they are, the dolphins are also hunting. There is always something left over for seagulls. It's a good thing that our motorboat has a powerful engine (265HP), because only at high speed are we able to follow the dolphins.
Once we have observed the dolphins from a respectful distance, we approach them slowly so as not to frighten them. Then we try to get so close that you could almost touch them with your outstretched hand. Mostly they come to us voluntarily to play with our bpushwave of the boat.

Now photos can be taken. An experience. which will definitely be remembered as one of the highlights of your vacation.
After this breathtaking experience we dock at the small fishing port in Koronisia to have a little refreshment in the harbor cafe restaurant before we start the way back, because first the boat has to be trailered again. Everyone can help....
There is no guarantee of seeing dolphins, but to this day, there has never been a tour where we haven't seen dolphins...
Every now and then we see Karetta Karetta turtles in the port of Koronisia or out in the open sea. This will not be charged extra for the dolphin tour...

We, Heidi and Uwe Deist grew up in Germany. I, Uwe, ran a company there for over 30 years and didn't want to jump in at the deep end like so many other emigrants did.

That's probably why we received the 'Landlord of the Year' award in 2012. We don't rest on our laurels, but are constantly looking for new attractions, on land, on water and also under water, so that even regular guests who have visited our facility more often will not get bored.
In 2020 and 2021 we were rated 9.9 out of 10 on major platforms. Only 5 star hotels can do this in the rarest of cases.
Although we only built two of the three houses a few years ago, innovations are constantly being made in the house and in the garden so that you feel comfortable as a guest in our green oasis.
With our pool heating we can offer you water temperatures of more than 30°C in spring and late autumn.

We chose this part of Greece, built right here, because we know this country from the border with Turkey to the Peloponnese, from the Albanian border to Attiki and also almost all the islands.

No coasts built up with hotels, so this part of Greece, between the Albanian border and down to Messolongi, is still seen as old Odysseus did.
Although the entire west coast of Greece is uniquely beautiful, "Ammoudia" is something very special. This great bay, the river that flows into the sea, the people with their friendly, helpful nature, who don't have "dollar signs" in their eyes when they greet you, all this stands for Ammoudia.
If you go through the village you will be addressed in a friendly manner. Many locals speak German, englisch, Italy, and French , which makes it easy for holidaymakers who do not like to communicate in foreign languages to get along here.
